@SunandStars I was offered a double transfer on my 3rd stim cycle if I had nothing to freeze, which I did as miracles sometimes happen. I was only just 39 at the time. I miscarried Then went back for a frozen transfer and thew 2 in but miscarried.. again. If you want 2 and have been round the IVF block then ask.

@MysticFalls so happy for you. You have been so patient. Best wishes..x

@Spazzyp jam those things up your donut. Up it to 5. Dont wait for a nurse or FS to work it out. Ask for the injection if they do that. It can drop as quick as it can increase. Im staying confident for you.

Did you have to push them for having 2 transferred, my clinic has said no, that they never do that.

    - @MysticFalls Congrats on being PUPO!!!

Good work on getting them to transfer 2 embies as well!!! I'll bet they tried to dig their heels in on that!!! You may have just set a precedence in this country for embryo transfers created with DE's. I am serious!!!

@SunandStars As you can see from my signature, I've always done DET's (double embryo transfers) except for my last 2 Cycles when I did TET's (triple embryo transfers) I'm also with the same Clinic as @Heyside or was with I should say.

I transferred FS's for my last 2 Cycles as you can also see on my signature

@Spazzyp I agree with @Billie2 Try and get a script for the PIO injections (Progesterone In Oil) to do in combination with the pessaries if you can Luv.

@Gemma8 I'm always wary of Clinics who say they never transfer more than 1 embryo at a time especially for women who are over 35 (especially for women 40+) who have had multiple implantation failures (more than 3 failed Cycles IMO). I see that as nothing more than $$$ grabbing though they will tell you they're trying to stop multiple births.

That is true to some extent, but the chances of that happening to a woman who is 40+ using her OE's (own eggs) having 2 embryo's transferred is very low (not impossible granted). You only have to look at the Live Birth Rate for our age group to see that as most of our eggs are chromosomally frucked by then unfortunately (aneuploid)

I copied and pasted this from Dr Sher's website:
Even in young women, at best only 2 out of 5 eggs are chromosomally normal (euploid) and this decreases progressively with the advancing age. By age 35 years, only about 1 in 4 is competent, and by the mid forties only 10-15% are chromosomally normal.

If you want to have a double transfer and have had failed transfers before, then I think you should definitely push to have it. That's what consent forms are for ...i.e for the Clinic to cover their ar$e in the case of a multiple birth happening etc.

Just my 5c worth so I'll leave it at that

@Gemma8 Go for it on Fri Luv!!!

Don't be afraid to speak up for yourself & use the stats to make your case etc. Ask them why they never do. It's not against the ART Guidelines in this country.

If the embryo was PGS/PGD tested then repeated single transfers would be understandable. I meant to say that in my last post but forgot as my brain is approaching "shutdown" mode šŸ˜‚

Hey just my two cents on this - I was all gung-ho on the double transfer last round - and this time around decided I would only do singles from now on. So much work to get to ready to go embryo stage even using a donor. That process in itself was nothing short of a miracle. This is old news I am sure to all of you but the success rates don't improve much with a double embryo. Anyway they are my thoughts. After me almost throwing in the towel last fail.
