@Heyside I'm equally saddened to see you've lost one of your precious twinnies.
I completely agree with the other ladies that your trip would have had nothing to do with it, but it doesn't make it any easier for you. So glad you still have a healthy little angel in there. ❤️

Hi everyone, I have just noticed that PGS and PGD is different.

Can someone please help me under what circumstance should you use PGS or PGD? And what's the cost? I think it's $700 for PGD but not sure about the PGS. Thank you

@gorgeousgeorge - big congrats! Such great news to read.
@Heyside - really sorry to hear this but hoping with all my being that your lo keeps going strong. Like the others have said, going to the UK would not have had anything to do with this so try not to blame yourself in anyway.
@tadine - second what @Blossom74 said - don't waste time on clomid go straight to IVF. I did IVF with PGD/PGS and out of 4 cycles and over 60 eggs collected, I got one chromosomally normal egg which very luckily for me became a baby. My FS said he only let me do 4 cycles at my age because I got such good egg collection numbers otherwise he would be recommended donor eggs. If you do one cycle and don't get a large number of eggs, your chances are theoreticallly slim taking into account the eggs you lose to immaturity, the eggs you lose because they don't fertilise and the eggs you lose because they don't make it to blastocyst.
@Applemummy - my understanding is that PGD is pre natal genetic diagnosis where the embryo is being tested for a specific genetic problem/ disease and PGS is the screening of the embryos to check they are chromomally normal. I did the latter and it was $750 per embryo test capped at about $3500 from memory for a certain maximum number tested per cycle ( which I never hit too anyway).

Hi, thanks for the response @BlondeinBrisvegas, the reason why i found this site in the first place is because i haven't really been able to get any solid answers from my FS. Whenever i ask a question she is constantly contradicting herself so i felt i needed to do some investigating myself. At the moment i am in the process of looking for another FS but i have read so many reports of money hungry IVF clinics and i want to just find someone that i can feel comfortable with and have a conversation with so i know the direction that i am heading in.

When i was being prepped by the anaethetist for my lap she (FS) told me that i should only try one cycle of IVF as it would be a waste of my money otherwise and that she was going to give me a script for Clomid and she said i suggest you try to find a relative who can donate some eggs for you. Just what i want to hear as i am on my way to surgery... Anyhow, i haven't started the Clomid yet so it sounds like the advise is to not take it before my first round of IVF?
