    Default Bulk bill IVF?

I am looking into Primary IVF. Does anyone else know any cost effective IVF clinics? I live in Brisbane. Any personal info on clinics would help out

I have been told they are crap. No customisation of cycle and they only do egg pickups once a week so no good if your eggs aren't ready.

    Default Bulk bill IVF?

I tried the low cost option but had three cycles cancelled as they only do pick ups on certain days. I ended up going with QFG and I was lucky to have my ONE embryo be successful and now have a four month old. I wish I'd just gone the full fee option from the start! If we have to go through ivf again I won't use bulk billed as it ended up costing us just as much as full service with cancellation fees and paying for drugs etc... it's also a pain as appointments are really limited. Also with QFG we were able to just pay the gap and when we got the Medicare cheque sent it to them, made it possible financially for us :-)

If you don't mind me asking mrsh1984 how much did it cost for the full fee option?

Not all low costs clinics are like that. I used a low cost clinic (in Sydney) and they do EPU and ET on all 7 days. I would make sure the clinic you choose (regardless whether low cost or not) offers EPU on all 7 days (or at least 5 days), as otherwise you risk your follicles being too large/too small when they happen to do it. My eggs are very precious (I have low egg count), so I wouldn't want to risk that.

I have also heard some low cost clinics give small dosages to save on costs - although my clinic wasn't like that. You may only need smaller dosages though, so it might not be an issue for you. I have a friend that used The Fertility Centre in Brisbane - they are low cost and she was happy with them. However they do not treat "complex" issues such as donor eggs/sperm, so it depends on your fertility issues.

@meelou I was with Primary and they did epu mon/wed/fri. I never had any issue with these days. The drugs control your cycle. And my protocol changed every cycle to personalise it for my needs. If I asked to change or up my prog support they agreed. I was happy with their care and had 24 hr access to the nurses 7 days a week which I used. Its a personal choice. I only ever paid for the drugs as private health care covered EPU. ET/FET was free.

    Good luck.
