Hi Faith, I did take a pessary prior (it was normally about 90 minutes before test and I ate breakfast.

With regards to your other questions in my natural pregnancy I had bloods taken at 5 and 6 weeks then no more. I only asked for my first levels and didn't ask for the next lot. My FS/OB always like to see they were within range.

My ivf nurse once told me that the progesterone levels in my blood test were what my body was producing. The pessaries were sending support to the uterus and not showing up in bloods.

@Wild Rose thanks for asking. A sigh of relief. Did blood test at 8am 1 hour after taking pg, levels went up to 120 from 57, so nurse said to drop pg pessaries down to 400mg twice a day from three times a day. She said bhcg levels also rising. She said to get my scan on thursday and have repeat bloods then. She thinks placenta will start to kick in then and I may be able to drop my pg pessary dose. Nervous but looking forward to the scan now! Fingers crossed. I really appreciate your prompt replies and sharing your experience: )

    Hi Ladies,

can I please get some advice on progesterone levels:

Have had a dating scan 3 days ago - and all good
So am just monitoring P4 levels until next scan

    My levels have been:
    13DPO - P4 137 - 400mg/d of progesterone pessary
    4w3d - P4 80 - dose upped to 400mg twice a day
    4w6d - P4 88
    5w6d - P4 57 - dose upped to 400mg three times a day
    6w1d - P4 120 - dose reduced to 400mg twice a day
    6w6d - P4 74

My Fertility nurse said to recheck bloods in one week. She said 2 pessaries should be fine. My FS said target is above 30. But one of the nurses mentioned that since i'm on support aim for >50. She also said time of day the levels are taken can cause fluctuation etc.

I'm just a bit nervous with all the fluctuating levels and just wondering if anyone experienced this? Also wondering if I should check the P4 levels sooner....or even be on a higher dose of P4 but this seems unnecessary from the reading I've done.

    Thank you girls

Wow your p4 levels seem great!!

Try not to worry yourself with the levels, apparently your levels are usually higher internally than what shows in your blood tests.. (that's what they explained to me)

I never had levels above 28 (as low as 15), and I'm currently 32w!

At the end of the day, if getting your levels checked puts your mind at ease, then go for it .. nothing to lose in putting your mind at rest is there?

    Good luck

thank you @another way. It's nice to hear of other's levels as well and so nice to hear of your success story!! Real world examples are so reassuring. Yes, I have to try and relax more, helps to chat I spoke with my clinic and they were not fussed if I repeated the levels at 5 days or 7 days. Thanks again xx
