Default Is the name Evie really that popular? (Particularly in NSW)

Less than a week until my first is due and we still can't decide on a name for our little girl. We like the name Evie but it has gotten more popular over the past few years.

We do not have any involvement with children, so to mums in playgroups, daycare, school etc, is Evie really that popular? I have never heard of girls with that name but I am not involved with young kids so I don't have realistic figures to go by. We would prefer a rarer name but so far this is the only one we both agree on. Thanks in advance!

I've got an Evie and we don't know anyone else with one. Her full name is Evangeline but she goes by Evie

I love that name! It was my second choice for DD (but we went with our first choice). I think it's in the top 10 names for girls born in 2016.

I have an Evie- she is 7. Last year in her dance class there was another Evie (short for Evelyn), Eva and Ava.
We had never heard anyone else use it when we picked her name. I still love it though.
If you love it go with it or use it as a short version of a more formal name like Evelyn.

I'm in SA and it seems reasonably popular here. My dd is 21 months and there's an evie in her childcare group and I've heard it around the place at things like swimming and gymbaroo classes. If you both love it though I'd use it

I know 1 Evie in Melbourne. I've found that even if a name isn't super popular you'll all of the sudden feel like you hear it everywhere once you use it. I feel that way about DS1's name, I don't think his name is popular but since we've used it I definitely hear it more.
