Oh man I just passed a big clot, the size of a golf ball. I think I'll call health direct and see what they say, I'm wondering if I need an ultrasound or something.

Ohhhhh no!! I stopped bleeding for a couple of days but have started again this arvo. I feel like crap so think I've overdone it. No clots though. Hope everything is ok!

I hope you are ok. I passed a huge clot when my Bub was 2 weeks old. It turned out to be retained placenta.
I hope you are feeling ok and the bleeding stops soon

    Xx

Thanks ladies, I thought I'd monitor my bleeding for a couple of hours and see how it was going, it was quite light but then I started getting back pain and cramping, so I called health Direct. They told me to see a doctor within the next 2 hours, so I'm here waiting to see a GP now. Hubby is at home with both kids on his own for the first time and enough EBM for one feed - let's hope it's nothing, or at least nothing that needs to be dealt with tonight!

Thanks for checking in. It may be a mild infection so Dr has put me on 2 types of antibiotic (even though she wasn't 100% certain she said this type of infection gets very bad, very quickly if not treated so wanted to treat it as a precaution). I also have to have an ultrasound to make sure there's no retained placenta. So I'm glad I went and got checked out :-)

My scan came back and said (I'm paraphrasing here) there was something in my uterus but it was most likely blood clots and not retained product. Since passing the clot, my bleeding has slowed down considerably and while I'm still wearing a pad, I could probably get away with a liner as the volume is so low now. Thanks for checking in! :-)
