    Default Scientology.

Many moons ago while walking between bus connections in Dublin, I was approached by a young man on the street with a clip board asking If I'd like to do a 'personality test'.
Mad into weird stuff at 19 I said yeah, definitely.
He led me through a doorway and up stairs to a small room with a few others furiously scribbling away at tiny desks.
Anyhoo...he handed me a monstrosity of a questionnaire, even for me this was OTT but I began to answer the questions.
Less than half way I through I was sorry I agreed but anyway, not being a quitter I saw it through and even waited for the result! (well yeah!)

By this time, due to some of the questions presented, I had my back up.
He proceeded to tell me I was depressed, had issues with my mother and that I would benefit from signing up to their course - Dianetics.

    Dianetics being Scientology.

I can't remember what my words were as it was too long ago but the feeling was an overwhelming GO EFF YOURSELF!

I didn't have internet back then, and I didn't know anything about these people only that I was sure it was a con.
It took a good few yrs to pass before I became aware of Scientology and it's nastiness.

Anyway, just a bit of background and how they seeped into my world.

I'm a Joe Rogan fan so I listened to the Leah Remini interview a few months back.
She escaped the church but holy moly, what a story.

Anyone interested here's the interview on youtube, or podcast if you just want to listen.

I'm popping this in here because I'm just about to listen to Joe interview Ron Miscavige, who is the leader, David Miscavige's father.

I highly recommend listening to Leah's interview and what she did in regards to David's missing wife and if you're interested enough to listen to Ron's interview after.
Back here for chats if you are, otherwise I'm talking to myself - (AGAIN)

    p.s
can you tell I'm housebound with sick baba and no hubby to help.
    NO HOUSEWORK BEING DONE TODAY!

We watched the Louis Theroux documentary on Scientology. Bunch of serious crazies lol
Hubby is desperate to do one of their questionnaire things. He thinks it's all hilarious.

I can't remember the questions specifically, I'm sure if he asked for one to be posted out they'd be all over it! They're only gumming for new money, I mean, members!

Well that was good, nothing I hasn't heard already but interesting nonetheless.

He didn't go near the missing wife but I think he's hoping to reconcile and see his grandkids that he hasn't even met.

Leah Remini didn't hold back though.

    Absolutely nutty lives!

A mate of hours did their test (he was approached in the street in Sydney quite a few years ago).

They told him his results indicated he was a 'cold hearted b@stard'

One of my favourite songs, found out later it mentions going clear, or rather, what going clear meant.

"Leonard Cohen: It was a Scientology reference.1 I looked into a lot of things. Scientology was one of them. It did not last very long. But it is very interesting, as I continue my studies in these matters, to see how really good Scientology was from the point of view of their data, their information, their actual knowledge, their wisdom writings, so to speak. It wasn’t bad at all. It is scorned, and I don’t know what the organization is like today, but it seems to have all the political residue of any large and growing organization. Yes, I did look into that and other things. from the Communist Party to the Republican Party, from Scientology to delusions of myself as the High Priest rebuilding the Temple.2"

From what Ron Miscavige says, the "religion" in it's beginning was totally different to what it is now.

I've seen quite a few Leah Remini interviews since she left Scientology, one where she spoke about tom and Katie's wedding, just weird. Will come back to hear this interview.
I had no idea they approached people on the street, but I thought they had a whole thing where they don't believe in psychology, so doesn't that contradict their own beliefs by telling someone they have depression?
I thought you had to be rolling in money to join.
