Our date was 10th April 2009 (Good Friday) and it was the only date our venue was available - probably because it was a public holiday. We loved it anyway, middle of autumn so not too cold (about 21 degrees) and to me Good Friday is the most boring day of the year so I figured it's a nice thing to do on a quiet day.

The biggest factor for us was his mum was dying. We wanted to have it before she died so she could see a video or some pictures. Sadly she died 5 days before our wedding. Her funeral was 2 days before our wedding.

We choose Easter Sunday. So that his family could come. Sadly only his dad and 2 siblings out the 8 came.

We were married 1 year and 1 week after we met.

Our anniversary was on the October long weekend. We wanted a 2 year engagement (lots of reasons), which would have meant we could have got married on our anniversary. But, since it was once again the long weekend that year lots of places were already booked and it was also pretty cost prohibitive with different surcharges. The weekends either side of our anniversary were out for some reason, so we went 2 weeks before our anniversary because the date was easier to remember for DH.

We went 2 years to the day of our anniversary & it is 3 days before my birthday so we also celebrate my birthday at the same time.

DH and my birthday are 2 days apart, we thought having our wedding the day in between would be great.....little did we know, we would follow on to have 2 daughters born within days that of it and another 2 only a few weeks before!

We ran off to Gibraltar (we were living in Amsterdam at the time) without any friends or family so the date was chosen based on when we could get the cheapest flights. So romantic

Bonus was that it was 2 days after valentines day so DH actually remembers most years!

I was determined to pick the venue first and then the date after that. Just knowing that hubby didn't want it to be during September due to footy finals. Then we discussed we would like 10/10, a venue we looked at didn't have that date and suddenly it became about the date instead. So we got married on 10/10 and it is easy for us both to remember.
