We selected our venue first and discovered they had a special winter wedding package which had free upgrades to better quality catering and overall saved thousands on venue hire. The middle of May ended up being perfect weather wise and we were very happy with our choice, but it was definitely made for practical reasons.

I like September - not too hot
We got in a wedding and short honeymoon before harvest started
It would have been afl grand final day except that year it was moved for some reason (something to do with crickey perhaps?)
It was also about a year after we got engaged so plenty of time to plan

Also happens to be the day after my mum and dads wedding anniversary, so that was a nice touch![/QUOTE]
This reminds me that our wedding anniversary is the 4th dh's parents are the 5th and his grandparents are the 6th of the same month.
We didnt realise until we had already booked everything but its rather nice

We are getting married on 5 November this year. We wanted a Sunday and when we looked at our options settled on the 5th because of Guy Fawkes - remember, remember the fifth of November. Partner's idea so he'd remember our anniversary

Our venue did a special rate over winter, so we chose the last weekend in august to have the best shot at it being nice weather for a garden wedding. August 27th turned out to be a very chilly and overcast day, whereas the Saturday before was beautiful and sunny. Oh well.

Our wedding day was our anniversary we used from our first date so was going to be easy for DH to remember lol. It also fell on the Saturday the year we wanted to get married and was the queens birthday weekend which meant our visitors didn't need to race off Sunday.

we got married overseas so the winter season governed when we were there. we picked feb as weather at the destination was supposed to be best. discussed valentine's day as a possible date but felt that was too cliched so went for the week after (21st feb, 2014). ds' bday is within a few days of that date too, plus we bought a house the year after we got married in feb also. so i think feb is our lucky month!

We started dating November 26 2005, so we wanted that date as our wedding date in 2011. Unfortunately due to the number of guests travelling for it, we couldn't have it that day (being a week day) so went with the Saturday which was the 26th. Also wanted it that way due to the fact dh and I are both useless with dates so the less we need to remember the better

We got married on the 4th of july because we wanted to go to Europe on our honeymoon straight after (we flew out on the 6th).
We wanted to be in Europe over July and August so thats why we picked the very first weekend in july.
