Awww @MrsBMum2be try not to worry too much! Just because it's common doesn't mean you will experience it. I've heard some very in depth birth stories from friends and relatives, and not one of them mentioned this even though they were full of graphic detail!

At the end of the day everyone's experience is different and usually much different from their "ideal" birth. Like many first time mums I went into pregnancy determined to avoid a c-section, but due to a stubborn breech bub that's what ended up happening! Instead of being caught up in the disappointment of not getting the birth I wanted, I embraced it and actually had a very positive experience. I do want to try for a VBAC this time, but it will all come down to whatever is the safest way to get Squeak here.

Oh gosh yes i can see what you mean! Im trying to get my head around the fact that what will be will be and all i can hope for is a healthy mum and bub at the end 😯

@MrsBMum2be I vomited once when I was in labour with DS then I was fine. I wasn't expecting it! So true though each labour is very different.

@ELM13 so did you feel terribly unwell or just a sudden urge then it was over? (The vomitting i mean). I think i just need to calm my farm and stop stressing, if it happens maybe i wont be bothered due to everything else?

It was a sudden urge then it went away. I didn't feel nauseous again.

    Default IVF Babies due Sep/Oct/Nov 2017 #2

@MrsBMum2be it's good you're trying to process it all now. At the time those bodily functions may not phase you at all, you never know. I didn't vomit during my labour at all and never really felt sick at all. The pain was definitely the only thing I focused on. Getting through each contraction gave me little goals to get through. But like many have said, all labour stories are different and yours will be your special story no matter what.
You could try doing some "Mind the Bump" meditations to help settle your thoughts. It's an easy app to download.
Good luck working through your fears xx

I brought a few maternity tops from jeanswest yesterday and black pants for work from Sussans. Everything is in sale at the moment - awesome hey!

Question ladies, what are you doing with bra's?? Mine existing ones are now to small. What type do you buy? I'm only 17 weeks so I know I will get bigger but I need some new ones for now.
