I've had amnios, they really arent bad, you feel a little nauseous when they pull the needle back out, but that is it. They dont hurt and they guide it by ultrasound.
Thanks for info. Hope all will be OK. But I know that it's important to be sure the doctor is not a practicing one but a professional..... So ladies, if anyone done it in Adelaide, please suggest one.
    Thanks a lot to all!

Sorry @MaryMa I'm in QLD. I would look for a fetal medicine specialist to get it done. They do it most often.

I had one done in Adelaide, by a Professor at Lyell Mc, unfortunately can't remember his name, but have a feeling his last name started with D. Good luck!

If your that concerned asked to have all your bloods and scans done again. Go to bensons radiology at Ashford hospital on Anzac hwy. the lead radiologist is brilliant. (Women) She is then determine if your need to do the harmony to be sent to the states.

You won't believe but I asked to do it again. They refused and said it won't change anything. I even offered to pay for that, but anyway got a refusal. And as I wrote Harmony was done and came back 1:10000 plus 12 weeks ultrasound was also with good results. The only concern is blood results, that is why they insist on amnio.
P.S. I am a public patient, but happy to pay to get better care

Based on the Harmony test results I would not have an amnio, personally.

Which blood test are they concerned about? What are your other risk factors?
