    Default Positive HPT but bleeding

    Hi Bub Hubbers

I hope you can help me or offer some advise from experience?
I took a HPT this morning and the test came up positive straight away, the test line is darker than the control line!
You have no idea how happy and excited I was to see the two lines!
We have been trying since August 2016 with only one period in that time frame!!
Anyway, when I was done on the toilet, I wiped and saw dark brown blood.Like a light period.
Can I still consider myself pregnant? What has been your experience? I have a doctors appointment booked but just wanted to know what everyone elses experience was.

    Thank you!![

Congrats @Ducki151 It could be implantation bleeding or general first trimister bleeding. I'd get the doctor to do a couple of HCG blood tests a few days apart to check your levels are rising as they should. Congrats again!

I've never had experience with this but I've known women to have had their period whilst pregnant. I think its natural for women to bleed a little bit but not sure, best to see a doctor for a blood test

That's a nice strong line on that test, which aren't usually as sensitive as other brands so a big congrats! As others have said, get some blood work done over a few days to check that your HCG is increasing. Some spotting, brown discharge and blood can be very normal though.

Dammit. Now I'm worried. Discharge is still happening.
U/S showed nothing, literally. The sonographer said he definitely sees signs of pregnancy but no baby, could be that its too early to see (4 - 6 weeks) or it could be I miscarried early.
No dr appointments left until next week... I think I will walk in tomorrow and try my luck.
Need to get my second lot of bloods done and need a referral for it. Should get the blood results back sooner than another U/S appointment (he said to come back in 2-3 weeks).
Fingers crossed I get some good news next week and my HCG levels have gone up.

Bleeding in pregnancy is quite common. I had it from 6-7.5 weeks and all was ok. Like a pp said, you can get you hcg tested a couple of times to make sure your hcg levels are rising properly.

Eta. Dating scans are often not accurate until after 7 weeks so it may still be a bit early.
