Default Spin off: what room in a house would you love (and don't have)

throwing the other spin off thread about obsolete rooms on its head; what rooms/features does your house not have that you'd love?

i remember growing up in a house built in the 60s/70s that had a bar. it wasn't a room of its own, rather took up a generous corner of the main lounge room. when my parents renovated, they got rid of it. it was horribly dated and it was a relief to see it go at the time, but my adult self now yearns for that retro touch. there's something delightfully adult and hedonistic about it. sitting at a bar in your own house with a few friends having cocktails or a few wines.

what room do you not have that you wish you did?

I'd love to have a mud room. A room to store shoes, bags etc in after walking into the house.

Currently the kids dump their stuff on the floor they walk in through the back door. Drives me crazy.

    I'm on a roll!

What room would you love if you could design your own house?

I'd have a mud room with a spot for everyone's shoes/jackets/bags that was right next to a bathroom and the laundry. My boys get filthy and I'd love them to not have to traipse all that dirt through the house.

I just started this thread not realising you already had!

I'd love a mud room. But I'd want it close to the bathroom and laundry for my filthy boys.

A room for a gym. We currently have some exercise stuff set up but it's in the office/spare room and it's a pita to set up and put away

I'd love a detached room, like a pool house/games room kind of thing that opens out onto a deck. With a pool table, TV for sports, bar, table - would be great to have a pool to go with it of course!

    One can only dream...
