Single on single. Once the kids get bigger I'll get a double so that they have enough to go up and over them.

Thanks everyone! Double Doona is going on as we speak. Fingers crossed for a better nights sleep tonight! Although I'm not overly confident.. Last night she came down and woke me to tell me her toe touched the wall 😩

We need a King sized doona for our Queen bed. Ds often lies on top of it so I only have one small corner for myself...I can't move ds as he'll wake.
Eta. I only learnt this was a thing from bh. My mum always put single bedding on single beds, double bedding on double etc. I don't think she could handle sizing up.

When my kids had single doona's in doona covers, they used to lose the doona or even just the cover?!?! somehow off the bed every night.
I've changed them to comforters from kmart (no cover) and it's the best thing ever. They never lose it now, no cover to come off, and easy to wash (whole thing in the machine). I did just buy them singles, but a double probably would be even better.

We have a single on a single. DD (4.5) used to come and get us because the quilt had slipped off, but we just taught her how to pull it back up herself. Took her a couple of days and it hasn't been an issue since.
