as for the hub - I admit I miss some of the discussions - but certainly not the nastiness that came with many of those conversations.

I love reading about peoples thoughts on things - especially when they are different to mine - but on the ;net people tend to be so aggressive and nasty that it seemed to always slide into something horrible.

Default Where has all the controversy, passion, debate and discussion gone?

A few things happened, a lot of the people who started those threads moved on for various reasons (age of children, etc), like yourself. And others are on here seeking more advice or support for whatever they are going through in regards to pregnancy or being a new parent. I also think there's quite a lot of upsetting things happening in the world today and many of us come on the hub to get away rather than constantly debate or discuss it all.

Eta: totally cheese all the way. Actually unsure Ds1 is mine because he hates it.

Seriously I can't be bothered arguing any more.
And all the controversial characters have left.
I do miss it, but not to the point of wanting to start a thread or respond to one.
And as others have mentioned, the world is such a depressing place at the moment.

Lolol where do you stand on extended rearfacing and age of starting solids? (It's the only thing we could still disagree on!)

Hey chicky, it's been a while! I still come in sometimes and I miss the interesting threads. A while ago the demographic changed and people would get really upset and sensitive with any difference of opinion. Lots of flouncing and "i'm leaving" and "this place is full of bullies". Which is ridiculous. Yes threads sometimes got nasty, but more often than not people had a spat, then found some middle ground and went on to another thread where they agreed. Disagreement and honest advice is no longer seen as a healthy interesting thing, it's met with histronics. It's sad really, because some of the women I locked horns with I actually respect quite a bit. bc I don't see disagreement as bad.

The member who was the main perpetrator of nastiness and taking things too far (IMO) has gone, so maybe we'll start to see these threads come back as discussions won't turn personal and nasty so members will feel more comfortable starting them and contributing to them. They're always interesting to read, even if I don't have anything to contribute.

    Hey you!

That's such a shame. We can learn so much from different views. And same. Some I virulently disagree with but had immense respect for.

I wonder if it's who I think. I miss her. Often wondered how she is. Such a firebrand, even if we butted heads.

Rear facing? Up to the label age and beyond if that's your jam. Solids? 4-6 months depending on if the child is showing signs of readiness controversial haha!
