Default Can I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner and breastfeed?

Hi there. Just wanting some opinions on drinking alcohol and breastfeeding - I have a 12 week old who is bright and growing well and super strong- is it harmful to have a glass of wine and wait a couple of hours to feed? I know alcohol passes through the breastmilk the same as blood and so I try and wait to feed but just wanted some other mums opinions. I love my wine (in moderation) and after pregnancy and the birth I'd love that freedom back but don't want to stop feeding just yet. Thoughts?

Yes! Have a glass of wine! Check out the ABA website in regards to BF and alcohol - very sensible advice.
Basically if I would drive, I would BF. I had my glass of white with dinner tonight.

Yes definitely ok to have a glass of wine and wait then breastfeed. If you are worried about quantities and timing you can download the feed safe app which calculates when it's 'safe' to feed after drinking
    Hope you enjoy that wine!!

I always tried to time my wine to straight after a feed...then it's a few hrs till the next feed, so longest possible gap ☺

As everyone else has said, go for it. A glass of wine or 2 won't be an issue. A bottle or 2 on the other hand.. haha

Yes. I asked my OB after google told me no and she said "of course you can drink! Just have a couple and don't get drunk"
