    I'm not sure about NSW but in Qld they pretty much can't be under 4 months due to all the consent periods, court paperwork etc, and that's if all the paperwork has progressed without any hiccups, so if it's a similar case in NSW you won't need any newborn items.

    Yeah I have pretty much disregarded most newborn things for that reason. So the child must be on foster care for that period of time? I wonder if they can be fostered with the family who will eventually adopt them or if it is just the same foster families over and over who look after the children during that period? That would be such a difficult thing for those foster families to do!

    It can't be the adoptive family, and yep it's often the same foster families who foster pre-adoption.

    I can't imagine doing that role, but I'm so glad that there are families who do!!
