Default When to test? How early have you had a positive pregnancy test?

The what feels like longest wait of my life has begun on our first round of TTC. How long did you all wait before you tested? What is the earliest you have gotten a result?

I have a cupboard full of pregnancy tests that I'm tempted just to use, but then another part of me doesn't want the disappointment too soon. I'm just far too excited/curious/nervous!

Would love to hear all your pregnancy test stories and experiences!

I got a pretty obvious BFP at 10DPO on an FRER with afternoon urine. I think if I had of tested at 9DPO I would have gotten at least a squinter - but I didn't test so I can't be sure!

On the other hand, it took a few more days before my internet cheapies showed much of anything so wasn't much point using the less sensitive tests until at least after AF was due.

    Good luck!!

I've had positives at 9dpo on 3 occasions but they've been reaaaaaly faint then progressively darkened. Having said that some ladies don't get even a faint positive until 14dpo+ and still go on to have successful pregnancies so if you test early and it's a negative you need to be prepared not to fall apart as you might just be in the category of those who test positive later. Testing early can definitely mess with your head unless you prep for the worst and hope for the best, knowing that any positive before 14ish dpp is just a bonus!

I've had positives at 8, 9, 10 & 13 dpo (6 pregnancies, 4 miscarriages. With my son I have no idea what dpo I was, but with this pregnancy (35 weeks) I got a bfp at 9dpo, and it was clear as day!

I did IVF so knew my dates exactly. The first time I got a squinter on FRER the equivalent of 10dpo. The second time was with twins, and I got a squinter on 9dpo. It was actually probably more like 9.5dpo (long story).

If you use FRER, you will usually get a squinter (even if it's barely visible) on 10dpo.

12dpo first pregnancy, 10dpo second pregnancy, roughly 9dpo third pregnancy
