    Default Hotels near beach- California

Hi we are going to LA this year will be staying at Anaheim (to do Disney) for 5 days then want to spend a week at a nice hotel preferably on the coast.

I know there are hundreds of hotels but would prefer a recommendation from someone who has stayed somewhere nice?!

Our kids are 6 and under. Happy to pay decent amount.

Any ideas would be great thank you!

We are going in November! I've stayed at Shutters in Santa Monica which was nice (literally on the sand!) but we've booked the Shore Hotel (in Santa Monica) this time to try (we are only staying 1 night before flying out)
When are you going? Where are you staying in Anaheim?

Thanks for the reply! We're going in August. We're staying at the Marriott courtyard Anaheim- theme park entrance for Disneyland.

Our first time.. we are so excited

Those hotels look great. Did you like Santa Monica? I've also heard San Diego is nice too

It's exactly what you think - very American, great for people watching, beach is nice (but we are used to nice beaches!) actually San Diego would probably be better for kids - I stayed literally 20 years ago at the Fairmont which is a great resort in San Diego with huge pools and animals which the kids would like plus LEGOLAND, SeaWorld and the Zoo are close by so might be more kid friendly?
I've been to Disneyland but DS hasn't so we are so excited to take him (he will be 7 then) we are flying into San Francisco then driving down the coast to LA then Disneyland and Legoland

Loews Santa Monica beach was lovely, great location. We did Marriott Marquis in San Diego which was also great. Love California!

We stayed at the Georgian in Santa Monica which was lovely, it's got an older school vibe to it so not modern and flashy but it's on the main road, overlooking the beach and 2 blocks down from the pier. Santa Monica is a bit $$$ though as there aren't that many places to stay there.
