We live in a culdesac and all my girls play there on their bikes, scooters etc. The whole neighbourhood will either come to ours or the next one down to let the kids play. Thankfully everyone around is very mindful of the kids playing on the road and there's always a parent around. I don't understand why this couple can't be considerate of the kids playing? It's not like every day they have to slow down for them, just let kids be kids! Wish I could give you some advice to help smooth things over but unfortunately people like this will most likely never change which is a huge shame.

The OP did say it's nearly every afternoon though and the people are expected to wait while they remove a ramp and the kids from the road.

I think it's great that you all socialise and watch the kids play, that's a big part of community that's missing in so many of our lives these days. It's fantastic to model it for your children.

I think the fact the there is one couple on the whole street with an issue with it speaks for itself - most people think it's great and accommodate it. I'm not sure what you can do to work it out though, if they are willing to impatiently drive around small children rather than just wait a few moments to pass safely by perhaps they are not the most reasonable of people.

Not sure how to resolve it! maybe ask them over to join you for a drink one night and have a bit of a chat about it!

My children play on the road in our cul de sac unsupervised at times. There are only 3 houses there and everyone is fine with it. We have a basketball ring and football posts for everyone to use too.
