    Default Primary IVF Sydney

    Hi all,

I'm new to this and was hoping you could provide me with some information about your first initial appointment with Primary IVF Sydney. What type of tests do they do and do they ask for Pap smear results?

I'm worried I may not be able to go ahead with this as I feel this is an intrusive and invasive process.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Hi Beb28 I haven't used primary ivf I am using ivf Australia. I already had tests done on my fetuses after miscarriage so the knew what my issue was. They basically did all the bloods for infectious diseases and checked my thyroid levels and hormone levels and went from there. Each company might be different through

Hi @Beb28 welcome to bubhub. I haven't gone down the ivf route yet but wanted to let you know if you do a search of the forum I think you will find a thread specifically about primary IVF with plenty of info and experiences. Good luck xox

I expect any fertility specialist will want you to be up to date with your pap smears. And if you need IVF, there's many more indignities down the road, unfortunately. Best of luck with your appointment.

It is an intrusive and invasive process. I am quite a private person. Only ever 'been' with my husband and always went to female doctors for Pap smears etc. but now after many rounds of IVF I am so desensitised to it all I don't get embarrassed or uncomfortable in the slightest. It's strange how you kind of just get used to it. All the best op!
