Default Menevit versus Blackmores Conceive Well Men

Wanting opinions on these two supplements - what have people used and had success with? I'm taking the conceive well gold as it is and wonder if both of us taking the same brand will help? Partner's SA came back today as low so we need to get him on something.

Both dp and myself where on menevit. Dp had huge change in his sperm within a few weeks of taking it. To the point they actually started swimming freestyle instead of backstroke.

We ended up conceiving our little ds naturally after years of failed ivf/icsi and Lapo surgery for me to remove stage 3 endo. After I had DS2 I switched to blackmores pregnancy and breastfeeding

    L-Arganine and zinc
Studies on both have proven they have significant effects on improving sperm

DF started on Menevit in approx March 2016. His test results in August 2016 were GREAT ie "Mr Super Sperm" (we didn't have comparison results though except that by chance his twin bro wasn't on it & had tests around the same time & had a very low and slow result?). We conceived January 2017

Our FS recommended menevit for DH - we had issues with low count, motility, morphology, DNA fragmentation - the whole lot really. It's hard to say if it helps or not. Our FS said it can't hurt, and there is some evidence to say it could be beneficial so it was worth a try. I also made DH eat Brazil nuts every day! We did IVF regardless, but for us it was more about trying to get enough decent swimmers to get viable embryos.

DH used Menevit when we were TTC #2. His sperm count after washing went from 1.1 million to 4.4 million, he'd been on Menevit for 2 months. DD was conceived that IVF/IUI cycle (I hadn't responded to the drugs & only produced 1 follicle so the cycle was changed to IUI).

DH has a very high number of abnormal sperm, 96% abnormal according to one of his sperm tests when we were TTC#1.

Another supporter of Menevit here. DH used it for 3 months prior to our egg donor cycle, and he had an 84% fertilisation success rate with our donor's eggs. Considering he had to do TESA we thought that was a brilliant result!

Bought Menevit today and specialist also recommended vitamin c and e extra. So partner is all stocked up and we have a repeat test in 6 weeks. Will update with results for others.

Here's some info I found, my naturopath supports this too.

For men, the most important supplemental nutrients to enhance fertility are vitamin C and zinc. Vitamin C (2,000 to 6,000 milligrams daily) helps prevent sperm from clumping or sticking together, thus improving the chances for fertility.

Zinc supplementation (100 to 200 mg daily) has been shown to increase testosterone levels, sperm count and sperm motility. High zinc sources include oysters, organ meats, lean beef, turkey, lamb, herring, wheat germ, legumes and nuts.

Arginine is an amino acid the body produces from the digestion of protein. It is found in high amounts in the head of the sperm. Although not available as a supplement in Canada, arginine has been shown to help low sperm counts and poor motility. In high doses, arginine is also a potent dilator of arteries, leading to better erections. Food sources of arginine include nuts, chocolate, meat, poultry, fish and dairy.

Other nutrients that have been shown to improve sperm counts include essential fatty acids (9 to 12 grams daily), chromium (1,000 mcg daily), selenium (200 mcg daily), copper (2 mg daily), vitamin E (800 IU daily), coenzyme Q10 (400 mg daily) and B-complex vitamins (50 mg daily), especially vitamin B12 (1,000 mcg daily).
