I wonder if anyone cares to discuss the growth of intellection in children?

Intellection is the "action or process of understanding, as opposed to imagination."

That's true but only part of the whole truth. That's the first google hit. There's more to be had, of course.

Merriam Webster's definition is also part of the truth: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intellection

I like their list of synonyms. I'll copy them here:
    intellection Synonyms

    Synonyms

abstraction, cogitation, concept, conception, image, impression, idea, mind's eye, notion, picture, thought

To my mind it is what we see in our children.

Not being scientists devoted to scientific observation and analysis, trained in specific areas of science, we don't see specifically developing Intelligence as in IQ, nor developing mathematical ability as in strict logic, nor developing language skills as in whatever science that is that covers the developing up and coming young master author or politician, playwright or something.

We just see a kind of amorphous collection of it all - aspects here and aspects there.

We have a kind of general overview which includes often some deep understandings.

    That's what we could discuss.

    Default Growth Of Intellection. Discussion?

I'm just reading a whole heap of big words and to be honest your posts aren't making much sense to me.

What are your motivations behind this thread? Do you have children op?

Sure let's discuss it. Tell me how you're applying it with your children.

Yeah I am not really sure if we are on the same page abrogard. I dont have kids yet, but if i am blessed enough to get there...i do plan on focusing more on things like helping my child develop emotional intelligence early on, resilience, broad views and general knowledge about various topics , cultural awareness and experience (i plan to travel with my kids and travel often)... and i plan to talk to them a lot...sure school will be important, but i wont place too much importance on the main****** educational system. I think life experiences are equally important as taking an advanced math class or learning how to play the piano. I want my kid to have social confidence and self awareness.

Hello Wise. Applying what with my children? Discussion of the growth of their intellection?

We just mention it from time to time.

Hi Simil. The page I'm on is simply one of discussing the growth of intellection. I've picked in children because presumably that's where most growth is but I'm open to discussion of other age ranges, too. Why not?

Presumably and in fact demonstrably intellection doesn't proceed at the same pace with all children. Nor equally in all areas.

What experiences, evidences, have people seen of those facts, I wonder?
