That's a bummer that it got canceled and you still had to pay.

An update on my PGD results. Of the two eggs, one egg had an extra chromosome and the other had a chromosome missing. So both would have ended up in miscarriages. I'm very happy I did the PGD testing. I'm off to find donor eggs!

Hi @Chmeille sorry to hear that. I'm 38 and this is my first IVF cycle. I went into the Dr office and said I wanted the best chance so we did ICSI (although no prob with hubby) and test and freeze. Then with my poor egg retrieval 5, one damaged during pickup, the other damaged during ICSI I was down to three. All fertilised and I just transferred the best fresh blastocyst today. Taking my chances on one. We will test, freeze the other two. I asked about batching before testing but I didn't get much of a response. Is that going back to back EPU? Now I'm wishing I'd done that as if this one sticks and is viable it's another 9 months for my eggs to age even more! You really have to push and push to be your best advocate don't you? I'm so sorry to hear about your two... I was laughing that all the girls today at the clinic looked liked me and that I could have their eggs if this didn't work. Hope you find your doppelgänger although it doesn't really matter does it, a happy healthy bubs is the objective not a mini me. Bless you in your journey! Thanks for sharing. x

@augieandaddie you're very sweet - thank you. You absolutely have to be your best advocate! A lot of it is just going with your gut. I hope your little one sticks. Let me know how you go. X

@Chmeille Found out today that the two I have left were suitable for testing/freezing. Now that wait on top of the 2WW. I hope I made the right choice to go ahead without testing the one, I was so worried about having none to freeze, that I went for a freshie. It's like playing roulette, I love to gamble but these risks are just to great. Keep us posted on the donor process... I was reading a thread of ladies heading overseas to find one? I hope Australia isn't that prohibitive that ladies have to go abroad... or is it a lack of population/donor issue... we just don't have time to wait in a queue!

@augieanddaddie there is a lady near where I live that is donating her eggs over and over for ivf patients she is only 29 but has had her two children. It's amazing. I would do the same if I didn't have PGD issues

@augieandaddie I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you that the freshie works. The TWW is agonising... I would have done exactly what you did if I were a few years younger. I think I will go overseas to Cape Town. But it will take a few months to sort things out. No time to wait. I have to wait until end of May just to see my fertility specialist in Sydney to talk to her about what my options would be for DE here in Oz... that's ages away! I have to get the ball rolling.
@cag14 I agree. I would definitely be donating my eggs if I could. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Wish I knew 20 years ago what I knew now.
