    Mermaid13 I've been crying the last 2 nights. 2 full cycles @qfg. 1st cycle 3 eggs, all failed to fertilise. 2nd cycle 4 eggs and only this one fertilised and made it to blastocyst.
    Everyone kept saying it only takes 1 .

    @loveland,

    Try not to stress hon. I know of some ladies who put in an embryo at morula stage (so it hadn't even got to blasto stage, let alone expanded!) and still got a BFP!

    Going forward for your next child (because this round WILL WORK!) after two cycles I'd be sitting down and having a good chat to your FS about what's going on. For a start I'd be asking about some sperm testing as your fertilisation rates are not crash-hot. Get your hubby/partner onto Menevit for 3 months prior to cycling as well. My hubby saw a HUGE improvement in sperm quality from doing that alone.

    Don't let your specialist talk you out of testing either. Sometimes they'll try and fob you off with lines like "We don't need to test, we do ICSI and already pick the best sperm out" but what they see, as with eggs, does not necessarily speak as to the quality of the sperm. Only testing will be conclusive.

    Sorry to take the thread off track a bit, but my heart does go out to you. Crossing everything this transfer is The One!

    Default Feel like my first cycle is over already 😥

    We're a same sex couple using known donor sperm. It's my partner who goes through the egg collection process. And I will be carrying. It's been such a long journey to get this far. Sperm had to be quarantined for 6 months (qld law) extra testing extra Counseling. Donor fees, then my partner legally has to "donate" the embies to me. It's been a really long drawn out expensive process. thankyou so much mermaid for taking the time, great ideas x

    Awwww Loveland sorry to hear you've been so upset! It's true it only takes one but with so few eggs to work with it's just so hard to stay positive. It makes it so much harder knowing if it doesn't work we need to start right back from the beginning, I see people who have like 13 left over to freeze and think why can't my body do that? Then I think there's people who go through all this and have nothing to even transfer so we're really lucky that we at least have something to transfer, it gives us a chance 😀 I really do hope this cycle works for you!!

    Ah, my apologies @loveland. In that case, with donor sperm, I would presume they are doing all necessary testing.

    It is such a hard road, this TTC business. I am going to cross everything for you

    @loveland I knew mine was over when all my symptoms had gone and then on day 7 AF arrived! If you've still got your symptoms and AF hasn't arrived I say you still have a chance!
