Hello ladies, I haven't been contributing here but have followed along and can relate to so much of what you have been talking about. I am coming to the end of my extremely unsuccessful ivf journey which is probably why I have found it hard to get involved here. I am doing my best to mentally move on! I just want to give you all big hugs. For me, I think I have reached the point where enough is enough. It is almost likely something just clicked and I am feeling quite at peace with it all. We will transfer our last frozen embryo later this year and have decided that will be it for us. It helped that our doctor pretty much told us that we should stop and that if IVF hasn't worked by now then it is very unlikely to happen for us. I never thought I would be able to make the decision to stop but I think I have. Next step for us is adoption/permanent care and I actually feel excited about life again. I wish you all the best with your own journeys and will keep following along here as you are all such inspirational and strong women xo

I'm sitting in a carpark eating maltesers to avoid visitors with a baby. This is what I've become 😧

Big hugs to everyone for tomorrow... really hope the day goes quickly all.

Oh and F... U.... infertility. Jerk!

Thanks for the welcome @Tinachris and sorry to hear that your donor fell through. I usually hide away on Mother's Day @givemewaffles but I have a wedding to go to tomorrow so it looks like I will need to face the world. It doesn't help that my Mum died when I was 6 years old. I always felt sad on Mothers Day but infertility took it to a whole new level. If hiding out in a car park eating chocolate is what you need to do to cope at the moment then I say go for it.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum @ShannyAnny. Extra hugs to you for tomorrow.

I don't have a lot to contribute either at the moment I'm still unsure whether to go for cycle 7 or just shut up shop.
@givemewaffles I had a big F...U...infertility moment today. I was cleaning out some files and found a heap of paperwork from my old ivf clinic. Do you know what I did?? I let the shredder chop it all up and then I put it in Mrs Nibbles cage (my niece's guinea pig) so that she can sh!t all over it to her hearts content.

    F..U.. Infertility!!

@ShannyAnny sorry to hear about your Mum. Hope the wedding was a good distract for a tough day. And thank you... I defintely needed time by myself eating chocolate!

@Chocolate_rain paper shredding sounds very therapeutic! Thats one difficult decision to make, just shows how freaking unfair this process is.

Thank you @Chocolaterain and @givemewaffles (both really yummy sounding names by the way and now I feel like some dessert ). The wedding was actually a fairly good distraction aside from the never ending Mother's Day acknowledgements in the speeches. Shredding sounds awesome. We recently threw away loads of accumulated paperwork and took back 4 bags of leftover meds and sharps containers to the clinic. It felt so good to get all that crap out of the house. It is so hard to know when to stop treatment. In a weird way I am lucky that the decision has kind of been made for me to stop as my body has stopped responding to the meds. I guess my ovaries have made the decision to shut up shop on their own. At my last fs appointment she also advised against doing another stim cycle so that has helped me to make the decision. So one last FET for me and we are done. We have made the decision to go down the adoption/permanent care path which also makes the decision to stop IVF easier as we can't proceed with that until 6 months after ceasing treatment. I think if we weren't doing that and the alternative to treatment was accepting childlessness I probably wouldn't be ready to make that choice yet.
