    Default Felix

Tell me your thoughts on Felix please..

Partner loves this name. I don't hate it but I don't love it. Does it make you think of the cartoon cat?
I like the meaning (lucky). It doesnt have any negative associations for me. I just don't know.
    How popular is it?

    Thanks x

I really like it! That being said, I've always been a fan of names that are on the unusual side. But yep, I'd use it

ETA: Hubby and I have picked an uncommon name for our bub for when he/she arrives in June. I had the initial worry of "will anyone like it?" but then I thought "To hell with them if they don't!" It's our bub and we've fallen in love with the name, and as far as we're concerned that's all that counts....

    I don't mind it. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either.

Felix The Cat is pretty old school, so I don't think it will be much of an association for a child named Felix these days.

My DS started primary school this year and there's a Felix in his class, though I wouldn't say it's that common.

I am old so I immediately thought of Felix the cat. I wouldn't use the name but it is not my choice, it is your choice. marie.

Yes I think of Felix the cat, but I loved the cartoon movie as a kid.
But like it's been said, it's pretty old school, not many people would think of the cat.

If you like the name, stick with it. If I had gone by what other people thought my kids wouldn't have the names they have.

I grew up with a guy called Felix...family name. It was considered such a 'bad' name then that he went by his middle name. It always surprised me when it became somewhat popular in the early 2000's.
It will always have negative associations for me due to our friend growing up. Therefore, I wouldn't use it, no.

I've known a couple of guys called Felix, one was at school with me and super cool, he had this wild curly hair and was really fun! The other is a student at the school I work at currently and is a really great kid. I love the name and never think of the cat

My nephew is Felix. I was neutral about it at first, but now knowing him he really suits it and I like it more.

My sister loved it and her partner wasn't sure. They went with the name and don't regret it.

I think of Felix the cat too - though I'm 38, so may be a generational association.
I do think it's cute, hip and cool, but I would worry about it being less appropriate for an adult? I read on another post "imagine seeing the name on an adults cv/job application". This may or may not feel ok to you, and it's absolutely personal x

I think if it as a cat's name. A friend named her son Felix and it's never grown on dh and I. I struggle to imagine a man with that name.
