Default Did you drink any alcohol during pregnancy?

Just wondering if anyone drank any alcohol during pregnancy?

The research seems to say that high levels of alcohol consumption can be harmful, but there's not much clear evidence about low levels (eg 1-2 drinks per week). As i understand it, the recommendation is not to drink, because it's not known what safe levels are. I have heard that some obs say that 1-2 units per week shouldn't cause any problems.

I'm too cautious to drink during pregnancy, but just wondering if others have, or do?

I didn't drink once I found out I was pregnant. I was pregnant over Xmas and NYE without knowing and I had a few drinks over the festive season. Once I found out, I didn't drink at all. I'm not a regular drinker anyway so it was one of the easier things to go without during pregnancy. I've got friends who had a glass of wine once a week throughout pregnancy with no concerns.

This topic gets a little heated lol.

For me, I did not drink. I felt too sick anyway but I think it is a personal decision for everyone though.

Not a sip when ttc, pregnant, or breastfeeding. My choice. I don't really drink alcohol anyway (in the last 5 years I've had 3 drinks...and I wasn't pregnant/ttc/breastfeeding) so it wasn't something I had trouble giving up.

I very rarely drink, maybe 2-3 drinks per year, yet both pregnancies I have thought "I'm not pregnant this month, I'll just have one drink" and ended up finding out I was pregnant within the next week or so lol. So I don't drink while knowingly pregnant!

When I got into my third trimester I had 1 drink every now and again as I was pregnant over Christmas, new year and my birthday. I don't see any harm in it and many of my friends do the same. Very much in moderation though.

I didn't drink during ttc and have continued this way during my pregnancy and plan to during breastfeeding. My thinking is that 1-2 drinks doesn't have a major physical effect (I.e. You won't get tipsy or drunk) so why bother having it when it can filter through to bub? But I'm not a massive drinker anyway so not drinking hasn't phased me. It's missing out on certain foods that's tough for me!!

    Each to their own though.

I tend not to have anything in the first trimester. Later on I might have half a glass of red wine with dinner every now and then. In fact I might have that tonight. We're away for the long weekend and I'm 15 weeks. Personal choice in my opinion. 😊

I don't drink during pregnancy but then I can go months without a drink when I'm not pregnant so I don't miss it. I have a harder time avoiding some of the no-go foods though!!

I haven't drunk since I found out I was pregnant with dd1. I found out I was pregnant the day before my 21st.

No particular reason. I just feel the need or the want to drink. I know I am weird. I just totally lost the desire for it.
