    Default Wait for donor sperm?

Hi all I'm going to be using donor sperm so have been looking into it a lot lately and have just found out that there is a waiting list.
How long did you have to wait until you where able to excess donor sperm?

I'm looking at starting to try and fall pregnant at the end of this year though a clinic so I'm not sure if it's worth getting my name down now (or if that's something I can even do). I didn't even know that a waiting list was a factor until now.
    Thank so much

It differs between states and between clinics. In some states, there's no wait. Maybe ask your clinic (or where you plan to go) what the expected wait time is?

It also depends on the clinic, some have more donors available than others and it depends on which state you are in. We used donor sperm from overseas (USA) as there were heaps more donors to choose from. Unfortunately this was a very expensive venture.

It depends where you are. We are in Brisbane and used Qfg. There was sperm available immediately but we waited a couple weeks because there was a new shipment coming from the US and we wanted a better selection.

If you tell us where you are people should be able to give you a good idea.

I used QFG.. Saw the legendary Waz. Would recommend him or Charlotte and his nurses to others as they are lovely. I had 6 ivf cycles with him and then overseas for donor eggs.. Which he still managed. I have a 2 year old and 5 months pregnNt with number 2 . No waiting lists for overseas sperm. Donor sperm is approx $1000 per vial. Good luck.

Last cycle I had with Qfg was about 18 months ago and the cost was about $10k before medicare rebate of about $5k.. So about $5k out of pocket per cycle.
