    Default Healthy eating

I don't have a completely terrible diet but am looking for resources for meal planning, shopping lists etc to broaden my "healthy" cooking skills, and hopefully drop about 5kg (although that's not the main goal).

I'm already running every second day, but don't have a lot of free time for gym or boot camp, so a programme that has diet and exercise resources with some strength training would probably work well for me. I don't have a lot of time for cooking or sourcing obscure ingredients. Ideally meals would be family friendly so I'm not cooking different meals for us all.

I was going to dig out the old-but-good CSIRO diet book, but wondering if there's anything better out there.

Has anyone tried one these "body transformation" challenges? The Kim Beach one keeps popping up on my facebook feed.

I'd love feedback on how practical the meals are to source and prepare.

I do Kayla Itsines BBG - I'm on week 3. I use the diet guidelines as just that - guidelines (although I think she has now released a more comprehensive recipe book). I'm a bit the same, my diet isn't perfect but it's not terrible either. It's the exercise program that just really, really works for me. 30mins, 3x a week. You don't need much equipment and you can do them anywhere. I get no kid free time, except when DD is in bed, so I need something super flexible and this works perfectly. It's hard work but it's over pretty quickly And I'm definitely seeing results!

There's an app called 7 minute work out. Gives you a quick whole body work out.

For strength training have you looked into resistance bands?

They're soooo simple and easy. Really, really straightforward stuff. Like I said I don't follow it religiously but I try and follow the principles

Not lately, but used to use them at Pilates so should revisit the idea. Thanks

LOL. I'm old, so this reminded me of 7 minute abs.

"Sevens the number here". Still waiting for 6 minutes...

I'll check out the app. Thanks

I've previously used that 7min app work out its good for those days you just don't have time, or first thing in the morning.
Another mum here once recommended 30 day yoga challenge with Adrienne on you tube, absolutely fantastic, even if you've never done yoga the girl is great she gives really good directions on how to do what.
Also on you tube fitness blender have a whole lot of HIIT workouts from a quick 5min to and hour, for targeted area through to whole body, these really get you sweating!
If your on fb 'cooking light' has some great recipes.
