Default Is she to young toilet train?

I'm really unsure if I should start toilet training my 16 month old dd. She is giving me signs like saying poo and then doing a poo, she also stops and looks down every time she does a wee and holds her nappy and I will say did you do a wee and she will say yes. I just thought I was getting her used to the names of the bodily functions but then today she was having some nappy free time and look at me then ran to the toilet and did a wee on the toilet floor then cried saying weewee,

What do you think start or just keep slowly introducing the idea.

I have just started toilet training my DS 18 months also for similar reasons. He can do a wee on the toilet if I put him there. I'm just going to take it slow and offer him the toilet a few times a day but I'm not going to put him in underpants just yet. I know a lot of people don't agree with the toilet training with nappies but it worked fine for DD so I'm going to give it a go with him.

I would do it. Maybe make it casual/fun and following her lead.

Do you think a potty would better because she's still little? I originally thought I'd get the small toilet seat thing but unsure now

I used a potty for DD because she didn't go 'on command' but DS is using the little toilet seat fine. I'm putting him up though because he's very small for his age.

I was adamant I would never get a potty with DS. But it is easier sometimes. So yes I would get a potty.

I just saw how cheap a potty and toilet seat is so might just get both and see what she likes. Thanks breezy and twinklify

I'd go for it. That's great that she's aware already, definitely run with it!

If she's showing signs, I would go for it. DD1 was like your DD and very interested and body aware. She was toilet trained very easily and out of nappies at 18 months. Night time with DD1 wasn't so easy and took a fair few years but the days were fine.
