The country really needs to step up.. with stricter laws and more police cars on the streets at night patrolling instead of revenue collecting.

We are getting roller shutters installed front of house and have a crimsafe security door front of door. We also purchased alarms... its sad but these are measures people have to take to feel safe in their own homes.

These home invasions are a real concern to me because they are so random and all over Melbourne/Vic. A lot of the time i follow up and these youths are released on bail!!!

    Oh another one.

Victoria is sure becoming the capital state of crime in Australia.

I feel like people generally dont care about this issue because it happens only in certain suburbs but eventually they will grow tired and move on to other suburbs.

    And this.

"A woman needed to be sedated in hospital after she was tied up with a phone cord and brutally bashed during a daylight home invasion in Melbourne's north-west.
Marisa Bonacci, 55, was in her pyjamas when two intruders used a screwdriver to enter her Hillside home about 11am on Tuesday."

Totally.. but people like you and i are the minority... because its not getting as much media attention people arent seeing it as a big issue.. Just look at how much of it is on the news..

There is little difference between this and terrorism. They arent just taking cars, theyre putting people in hospital and ruining lives.

People think it wont happen to them and theyre safe in their suburbs but this is fast becoming a trend due to little to no consequence provided. It wont be long before they start hitting up other suburbs.

I am really disturbed by how often this is happening and i dont live in the suburbs theyre currently targeting.

The fact that there is no fear is scary. They break in loudly, not fussed about police because they know police will take their time to come. They know if they get caught they will be released on bail.

There is a youtube clip of a Chinese man who put on his store "no black youths aged 13-21 allowed". There was a huge controversy over it and i agree the sign is inappropriate but.. the video shows several youths threatening him and stealing stuff from his shop several times. None of the youths were arrested despite the video footage. Instead, everyone focused on his controversial sign. Hello, there is evidence of theft on video!

I saw that video, he was very brave to stand up to them. They come in packs of 8-10 all the time.

You know what, I don't even care about his racist poster, he apologised and said it was in the heat of the moment and I get that.

If it's going to take being called a racist to stand up to this sh!t then so be it.
There's no room for PC when you're dealing with this,PC **** is what has let it fester!

People are ESCAPING south africa because of this problem. Just google "home invasions in south africa " they are brutal and happen weekly.

    That is scary.

If we dont get this issue under control soon.. we will be in very big trouble.

Haha i sound like a crazy person but I'm really passionate about this issue and I strongly feel things will get much worse for Victorians. One thing I love about Australia is the low crime rates and It kills me to see it change.
