    Default Night weaning advice

DD2 will be 1 soon and I'm ready to night wean her. She sleeps in her cot in her own room. Goes down about 8pm with a breastfeed and usually wakes sometime through the night at which point I take her into my bed and sleep feed her. At this point she sleeps next to me and will feed on and off. It's like if she's next to me she smells it and can't help herself. If DH takes her into the other room and sleeps next to her she sleeps with no issues.

I didn't breastfeed DD1 so have no idea how to go about this. With DD1 we offered water in her bottle and she stopped waking but DD2 has never taken a bottle. She's not great with a sippy cup either, she mostly plays with it and barely gets any water.

    Any advice would be appreciated

Google Dr Jay Gordon night weaning. It's a really gentle but effective method. Good luck!

We night weaned by determining a timeframe (to start with it was 10pm-4am) where there would be no feeds, and having DH resettle during those times. After a couple of days we expanded that from bedtime until 5am, and then from bedtime until 6am. I slept in the office while we did this so there was no chance of seeing mummy and expecting milk!
