Default Pregnant exposed to white board cleaner freaking out

I'm really hoping this is just me being paranoid and hormonal and any other excuse I can think of but right now I'm so upset I feel like I'm going to cry. I am just over 12 weeks pregnant and I have tried my hardest to be careful and avoid chemicals and everything else that I think could harm my baby, but today I had a training day at work and for the whole day, I was stuck right next to a whiteboard. The trainer was using the white board and then also had this whiteboard cleaning spray and she went absolutely crazy with it, using it every time she wrote anything. She sprayed it so much one girl got a migraine and several others were coughing. She sort of made a joke of it, was saying, "oh sorry this stuff is so toxic" while laughing and spraying more. No-one knows I'm pregnant, I didn't want to complain or say anything and now tonight I feel like I have possibly harmed my baby and maybe caused birth defects or worse and my partner is upset with me too because he doesn't understand why I didn't just move. He is right, he keeps saying that nothing is more important and I know that. I am so upset.

Does anyone know anything about this kind of thing? I have my scan on Friday and I am so worried now I am so scared about what I might have done

I would suspect it's more sustained exposure that is an issue rather than a once off and I'm sure your baby is fine. Especially at 12 weeks when everything is formed. If you are concerned you could ring the poisons information line or mothersafe.

    I agree with pp.
just the once won't hurt you I'm nearly totally sure. Also yes the organs are all formed anyway
Darn pregnancy hormones that make us women so irrational.

Don't let it eat you any more.

Thank you. I'm going to try my hardest not to worry and just wait for my scan. I wouldn't be worried if she'd just sprayed it once or twice, but every time she used it she'd spray like 10+ times you could see and feel the mist and she did that 20+ times.

Bub will be fine!! I used to have to be around strong smelling glue when i was pregnant with my first (not all the time but often) and she came out perfect! Try not to worry too much about it
