Well I wore a white dress, and my step-daughter wanted to wear purple but we couldn't find a dress she liked. She found a red one she loved so we got that and BAM red and white. lol

I chose my dress first. It kind of helped to set the theme for the rest. I had ivory chiffon and lace, soft and romantic sort of traditional feeling, so that helped to narrow down options for everyone else.
I looked through fabric swatches for the bridesmaids dresses (they chose style, I chose colour), and then chose my favourite colour from that (dusky pink). My jewellery has to be gold, so we had that as a highlight colour, and DH chose a really dark chocolate brown suit. We added the ivory, and that was that! I happened to find a lovely Japanese paper that we used for all the stationery and some decorations. It helped to set some of the ideas too.

When I married my ex it just popped into my head. Everyone was expecting me to use purple, but I did light green and pink.
For my wedding this year I wanted to incorporate partner's taste - this is wedding 1 for him, 2 for me, so I've gone with black and red (his colours) and lace detailing.

I was watching a TV show and I just thought the flowers and everything looked really pretty (purple and ivory - in the TV show the bridesmaids wore red though, I think I read somewhere they couldnt find purple dresses).
I'd think about what sort of flowers you might like and the venue and go from there.

We are getting married in a few months and as we are not having a bridal party, the wedding 'colour' is only really on DF so just let him pick what suited him. He's got a grey suit with pale pink tie, etc so I might get a pale pink bow on the flowers or something. We don't really have a theme.

Congratulations babyno1onboard! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Wedding no 1. I wore ivory with lace & crystals on my bodice & plain meringue style on the bottom. My girls wore gold and had cream and pink roses. Guys
Wore black suits to match. If dp and i do decide to do it (been engaged 18months) I would prefer to elope with a few friends my folks and my kids. My sister can wear what ever she wants and I'd prob go with a cocktail dress and dp suit pants and shirt but no tie
Get Pinterest if you haven't it's amazing but you can go overboard aswell
AliExpress is a Chinese website like eBay but sooooo much better. I've bought heaps of things off there and never had any issues what so ever. I even had a dress custom made a few years back for a wedding and it was a perfect with my measurements

We choose blue and silver, I think going for your favourite colour and keeping it simple is the best way to go.
And Pinterest is a huge help

How did you decide your wedding colours/theme?
Mine was a very small wedding with no bridesmaids or groomsmen but our tables and decor etc was black and white and my bouquet was red roses.

Just to add - we did have more than 6 guests. I was just showing what the tables looked like.Last edited by BigRedV; 04-03-2017 at 21:35.

I would say pick your venue and take the colours there into account. I went with a dark purple but it was a tough decision between that and green. Green would have fit the venue more, and I love purple.
My actual first choice would have been navy because I love it, but both of my brothers got married some months before me and one had navy and the other a lovely blue grey so I choose to stay away from the blues.
In reality, it doesn't matter what colour you choose. So long as you like it!
