Default What is the best timing when ttc?

Just wondering how often people did when ttc? We kind of just do it when the fancy takes us. Should we be more methodical?

Depends on how serious you are about it and the approach you want to take?

If you want to try the it happens when it happens method, whenever the mood strikes has worked for plenty of people.

If you're super keen, sex every few days around Ovulation (sex every day is actually worse deplets the quality sperm) is sufficient.

From an IVF perspective you're advised that 3 days without action is best for sperm collection. As thats whole long it takes to produce sperm (I think) So if you want your best chance I guess DTD 3 days out from O day and then again on O day.

My fertile week is usually a week after my period ends.. We only have sex about 2-3 time's in that fertile period and give the spern time to produce ect plus with busy lives its hard to do it all the time.

I'd suggest tracking your cycles on an app and monitoring your fertile signs. It depends how long your cycles go and there are other factors too. The week leading into ovulation is usually prime time and then one or two days after you think you've ovulated for good measure.
Taking the casual approach works too I am sure, hasn't for me yet, hence why I track everything. If you want info, check out the Bub hub blog, or there are other sites and books in the library or bookstores to give you tips. Good luck.

I'm vaguely tracking, but I think I need to start doing OPKs. We've been ttc for 7 months.
