Now I have a new machine 7kg Samsung for our holiday home with nothing in middle have had it over a year and love it and recommend it.

Easy to clean pretty and easy to use and has nice ice cream tune when done.

    Hope this helps.

I also have fisher and Pyle dryer also good 5kg.
Is it a top loader you have?

I have a 9.5kg (I think! Don't quote me) LG top loader. It has no agitator in the middle. It's pretty good, I'm happy with it.
It takes about 50 mins for loads which is close to the older fisher paykel I had that took about 45 mins.
It was around $1200 on sale I think.
It was quiet to start but has gotten noisier with age. It's not too bad though. I would recommend it.
It has the glass lid so you can look inside when it's on and it plays music when it's finished lol so you know when it's done.

Thanks for the replies. Im down to a samsung 8.5kg with the little add door or a LG 8kg. I like the crease free option on the LG and apparently the direct drive motors on them are good. Agh decisions. First machine ive purchased in 13 years. These are the two 50038967_132878.jpgLG-WD1408NPW-8kg-Front-Load-Washing-Machine-Hero-Image-med.jpg

The LG looks very similar to mine except mine is 10kg. Samsung washers freak me out after the issue they had with them catching fire but I guess the new models are fine in that respect!
I've only had my LG about 6 months but no complaints so far

We have an 8kg LG front loader that we've had for 3 years. it's great.
It washes well on short cycles, sometimes (maybe twice a year) won't turn on though and have to turn it off and on again at the plug.

Not once it starts filling and washing. I think when it's still weighing the load to determine the washing time you can? But not being able to add things is pretty standard for a front loader. I've only had front loaders for the past 17 years so I'm very used to it!

You can only open the LG while there's no (or little water in there). I've found if I forget an item I usually have about 2 minutes before it'll lock me out.
