I'm sorry you had a crappy exp.

Which hospital did you birth in last time in SA? I was flinders private first time and Ashford second time which I think is way better then flinders

Thanks for the ideas everyone, that's really helpful.

Oh @LittleMissSunshine I'm so sorry you've had the same experience as me, but also nice to know I'm not the only one. Your experiences do seem completely identical! I am also armed and prepared this time, I've printed off the statement of patient rights from the state health dept, I'm packing my own food and water and medication (I just had panadol, but I might go and get some voltaren too, thanks!) & I'm also keeping my phone near me as much as I can, so if any midwives start yelling at me or abusing me in any way, I will record their abuse on my phone so I have video evidence. I am also taking in a book and pen, so they can sign acknowledgements for me - eg 'I acknowledge the patient has declined xyz medical prcedure', so that when they do perform unneccesary procedures on me, it is in writing that it is against my permission. I am prepared for the worst again, but hoping for better this time. TBH I'd rather give birth in hell than that horrible place... Satan himself would make a better midwife than the ones they employ there 😕 Big hugs to you @LittleMissSunshine
