Default Missed miscarriage... waiting, waiting, waiting

@Bumblebees . I would ring the receptionist back and ask when the Gyn does surgery and get out on the earliest surgery list. Talk to the receptionist and tell her straight out how long this baby has been inside you and how worried you are about infection. As others have said.. You should be very worried about infection as this may have long lasting effect on your chance to conceive. I don't mean to sound abrupt.. But it may already be too late and leaving it longer is not only putting any chance of conceiving again in jeopardy but also your life. A friend of mine has extensive scarring on her uterus from an infection and has been unable to conceive number 2 for this very reason.

Thanks for the idea about chatting with the receptionist. I hadn't thought of that.

Regarding infection, thanks for the concern and advice. I should have mentioned my GP confirmed I don't have any signs of infection. I'm aware it's a risk but so far not been an issue.

Worthwhile mentioning for others there's also a risk of infection with a D&C.

@Bumblebees . I too had a missed miscarriage in July last year and waited a while for it to happen naturally.. About a month.. But it didn't so this is what my private gyno advised me.. To not wait too long as chance of infection increases. I was just going on what my advice was.. Being in the same situation as you are now. Good luck.

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about your story too.

I'm still searching for someone who has waited this out as long as this... surely I can't be the only one! It's been 4 months now.

I am sorry for your loss but I don't think that you will find anyone else who had been in this situation for so long. I can't imagine any Doctor letting this go on for so many weeks. I would forget about your gyno and get to any local GP

I was found to have had a missed miscarriage at 10wk, growth had stopped at 6 weeks, my body was not showing any signs of dealing with it naturally. I had a D&C within 3 day. I'm really sorry that this is happening, it actually defies belief that your medical team are allowing it to continue.

I also don't think you will find anyone else in this situation. To be left four months I feel is terrible for you physically and emotionally.

    Do you still feel pregnant?

I hope once it is all over your cycle doesn't take long to return to normal.
    Good luck

    Hi everyone,

I'm booked in to see my new gyne this morning so hopefully I can get this moving!

In answer to the question above, I don't feel particularly pregnant anymore- It's more like typical PMS or very early preg symptoms. I have had pain here and there and lots of cramping.
