    Subbing!

I don't own a sewing machine but I'd really like to start a hobby - can anyone suggest a good sewing machine that's not too pricey? I've been googling but have no idea where to start!

Also what to those with boys make besides tshirts and shorts!? So many pretty girls things on this thread but not sure what mummies of boys make?

Im a newbie too hun 🏽
I saw some sewing machines on sale in spotlight today, really cheap and im sure they would be perfect for a beginner. I think @JR03 suggested a machine from spotlight somewhere in this thread.

My SIL has boys and makes them bibs, and library bag and cute shorts and overalls. Are you on etsy at all? They have heaps of cute patterns for boys ❤️

I have an Elna 2000 which is often on sale, I got mine on sale for $99 then I had a $40 voucher so got it for $59! It's very easy to use and so far has done well one every project!

That's exactly what I've got. Mum bought it for me as a birthday present.
Made this with it (to show you that you don't need an expensive machine):

I really need a walking foot with it though as the fabric was ridiculously thick (woollen blanket that we don't use anymore).

Did you know Elna don't do a walking foot for it? I contacted them about it a couple of months ago. I'm not sure though if there is a non-Elna one that would fit it, have you seen any around?

I'm sure I saw one at Spotlight recently, it was in the Elna display even. I'm going there tomorrow night, will check it out. I hope I wasn't imagining it!

Can you please let me know if you find it and if there's some kind of ID number on it, and I'll enquired directly with my spotlight store instead of Elna :-)
