Looking at the side seam, your tension doesn’t look quite right. That might also cause the snagging issue.

i’ve finished in tears. never bothering with cotton spandex again. i just finished it to finish it, the leggings look terrible.

i don’t know how to/don’t have the right foot for sewing/serging elastic to the waistband. how are you supposed to stretch the elastic, hold it straight against the fabric and sew in a straight line with only 2 hands??

i’m not sewing pregnant anymore. it’s a recipe for disaster.

With the elastic you need to stretch and pin it before sewing - it's tricky to get the hang of! Did you use a blunter needle?

Made the shorts yesterday (finished off today), the tops I made a while ago. The shorts are VFT (Violette Field Threads) Fawn shorts and of course the tops are Tadah seaside.
I’m not optimistic that DD will wear the shorts. Or the tops for that matter. She has worn the top on the left once and claims to like it but I’m not convinced. She so damn fussy! And I suspect she’ll dislike the shorts because they won’t ‘feel good’. I haven’t figured out her sensory likes and dislikes yet. It’s very frustrating.
But I’m very happy with the shorts. Second pair of the Fawn that I’ve ever made.

Thanks. DD hates them unfortunately Good news is that due to posting the pic on Facebook I’ve found them a home. DD’s friend’s mum PM’d me on messenger and said her DD likes them. Offered me money but I said she can have them for free. I’ve given up trying to make money off sewing and am doing it only for the love of it now. I’m just happy if they get loved and worn!

I’m going to really get stuck into making stuff for myself and the boys. Clearly I can do tailored shorts and pants so I will focus on boys stuff now. The boys (mine and DP’s 11 year olds) are always very grateful for anything I make them (which has mainly been just pyjama pants etc, nothing tricky).

I absolutely love sewing so I NEED to do it for someone. I recently actually donated a bunch of beautiful girls clothes that I made to the Peter Mac auxiliary shop in Melbourne. It wasn’t selling on my Etsy shop so I thought ‘stuff it’ and got mum to take it in (she sews for them all the time). The money they get from the sales of donated handmade items goes to the cancer centre.

I made these last night for DD2 to take to childcare today. I have a massive pile cut out and been slowly making them between other jobs. 20181030_055255.jpg
