when sewing stretchy stuff you most definitely need a stretch sewing needle - otherwise it just snags and breaks constantly.

I’m going to really get stuck into making stuff for myself and the boys. Clearly I can do tailored shorts and pants so I will focus on boys stuff now. The boys (mine and DP’s 11 year olds) are always very grateful for anything I make them (which has mainly been just pyjama pants etc, nothing tricky).

I absolutely love sewing so I NEED to do it for someone. I recently actually donated a bunch of beautiful girls clothes that I made to the Peter Mac auxiliary shop in Melbourne. It wasn’t selling on my Etsy shop so I thought ‘stuff it’ and got mum to take it in (she sews for them all the time). The money they get from the sales of donated handmade items goes to the cancer centre.
That's lovely. I stalked Etsy for awhile hoping to find your shop.

TPD in Cloud9 fabric, my favourite fabric designers. DD is officially in the biggest size of Tadah dresses (size 8). She’s only just turned 7 but she’s tall. My only complaint with the TPD is that on DD it comes in so far at her shoulders. She must have broad shoulders 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’ve got enough of the fabric left to make a top for either her or maybe one of my nieces.
Oh and I did an invisible zip closure at the back instead of buttons. First time ever doing an invisible zip actually!

It's stunning! Let us know if you put things on your Etsy store. I know it's a against the rules but I will find it.

Tadah freebie skirt. I definitely need more practice Fine tuning required when it comes to sewing my hems etc and matching the ends. I didn’t wander too far, but 1-2mm is a lot when you’re sewing haha. Also mental note to leave the gap in the hem/casing for the elastic to go in away from the seam. It’s not too untidy, but I know it’s a bit dodgy. I’ll put it on DD shortly and add another photo then
