    Default 1,2,3 magic

Has anyone done this? We are really at our wits end with DS and his behaviour and are seriously considering trying it.

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight about it? I'd appreciate hearing any experiences.

    Thank you

I used this method without ever reading any book. It is simple and it works if you are consistant. What ever you say will happen at 'three' has to happen. No point saying rubbish, like 'when I get to three' that policeman will give you a smack." Marie.

I love it. I started using it from about 2.5. Even the first few chapters are great to read to gain some insight and empathy. I recommend it to everyone!

We have it and it works well! It made a big difference to my (then) 3 year old's behaviour. And it was a much calmer way of dealing with things - no more shouting!

The key is for both you and partner taking a consistent approach.

The book is a quick read. I read it and explained it to my DH.

Several of my friends have borrowed my book and all of them have had results using this method.

    Thanks! We've started today.
A question.. when DS leaves his room we take him back, he thinks this is a game. How do we stop that or turn it back to him knowing he is having a time out?

The school psychologist put us onto this. 1 2 3 Magic is fantastic but you need to be consistant and stick to it. There is a dvd you can buy off the net that goes through the process of what to do, how it works, it's great.
