Hi WishnHope, you mentioned earlier that you are doing "PICSI" and I was wondering what that is and the difference is between that and normal ICSC?

Also, some of you have discussed getting a scratch. What is the benefit of this? is this something I should be asking my FS about? I've never heard of it.
    Thanks

@Lozz91 we arent doing PICSI now but we have in the past. DH had horrible morph/motility so standard ICSI just wasnt enough.

    From my understanding
IVF - Egg and sperm in a dish naturally to inseminate
ICSI - random sperm chosen to inject into egg
PICSI - the sperm are "washed" to find the best one and then its injected.

Physiological Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (PICSI) is a special test for sperm to help the specialists select and inject a single, healthy sperm directly into a mature egg

    @Lozz91 @NeilJenny

A scratch is a biopsy of the uterine lining. Firstly the biopsy can see if there are any uterine issues but people also believe that it may help with implantation for the next cycle! I just did one this morning

@Wishnhope how are you feeling leading up to your transfer this weekend? And how do you find Fertility North?

I am just waiting on test results to see if I trigger tonight or tomorrow. My transfer will be Tues/Weds next week so we will be close in timing. They changed my FET cycle to a stimulated cycle and I am really feeling the effects of the Gonal F - looking forward to being done. I had to inject at the Guns N Roses concert last night (at my seat as I didn't want to miss the show). Classy!

@Foodie a fellow Perth Gal! Im feeling odd this time to be honest lots of cramping and weird heavy feelings in my lower abdomen and I havent even transferred yet!

Fert North is ok, my first cycle at the new clinic and all the new procedures. Communication is always been an issue but they've gotten me pregnant twice so cant complain! I was seeing Jay now seeing Megan, much happier. Who do you see? It's possible we have seen each other in the waiting room!

What does of Gonal are you on? Do you know why they changed your protocol?
Wishing you well for Next week!!

@Wishnhope I am at Fertility Specialists of WA, but Fertility North is a lot closer to me, so I am curious about it. I get acupuncture from your clinic though. I definitely have communication issues too - glad to hear I am not the only one. No-one told me they had changed my protocol until day 2 of my cycle - I didn't even have a script for the Gonal and they called and told me to start it! (lucky I had some left from the previous cycle). The change was to help my lining increase, as apparently my tracked cycle last year showed a lining of only 7.4. I got OHSS in December which resulted in a freeze all, so was reluctant to have Gonal F again, but the dose is only 25 so its ok (on my fresh cycle it was 250). My estrogen has shot up early though, even on that low dose, so it has brought my timing forward a few days. I am feeling the effects for sure.

Do you think you feel different right now due to medication? Hopefully it is a great sign your body is gearing up for the transfer! So happy to have a TWW buddy!

@Foodie Its a nice new clinic, very busy but good. Its hard to get appts with the FSs though so if you're happy where you are I wouldnt worry too much. I drive a fair way to Fert North (nothing is close to where I live!)

I would have thought a lining of 7.4 would be ok? I think someone posted in another thread their clinic wanted anything over 6!
I didnt get my lining numbers this cycle so I have no idea what mine is!

OHSS is awful! I had it back in 2013, (Gonal only 125) bloody FS Sent me home telling me it was all in my head! I was on 25 for my last successful FET but this time they had to up me to 37.5, maybe I have a few more follicles this time due to the upped dose.

When will your BT? Are you transferring a 3 or 5 day?

Thanks Sabrina and Wishnhope for all that info!

Thinking it might be worth talking about those options to my FS next time. We are doing ICSI due to hubby having low sperm count/motility. So perhaps PICSI would be a good option for us next time.
