Default Bottle warmer and sterilizer recommendations - Medela bottles

    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a reasonably priced bottle warmer that accommodates Medela bottles? Do I need a sterilizer as well? Recommendations for those too would be terrific.
    Thanks

Sterilisers aren't really necessary, our hospital said to just wash the bottles in hot soapy water and allow to air dry (except if you have a baby with higher needs for cleanliness like a premmie or illness).

My paed said the same.. Sterilising isn't really necessary unless bub is at risk or you are in a third world country. If you prepare the formulae in advance and put in the fridge.. U may need to warm a little, But i simply sat bottle in some hot water for a few minutes and then gently mixed by inverting. An alternative is just to measure out the formula into a formula dispenser and then pour into boiled water that has been cooled to room temperature and then giving straight to baby. Even in winter.. And if you do right from the start you will never need a bottle warmer.. Which is much easier when travelling or out and about.

    Good luck.

I've only washed in hot soapy water as my paed said aswell and once a week I chuck everything in the dishwasher. As for warming i boil the kettle and the bottle goes in a jug with hot water for a few minutes

Default Bottle warmer and sterilizer recommendations - Medela bottles

The avent electric bottle warmer fits medela bottles ($80 ish).

I also use an avent microwave steriliser for my medela bottles ($60 ish).

Recommend buying a bottle brush too so there's no old breast milk or formula build up on the sides of the bottles. A quick scrub before sterilising does the trick. No need to pay extra for the over priced "bottle cleaners".
