Default Dads who play with Barbies ... good marketing or just more 'wrong'?

    Hopefully the link works...

Personally I think Barbie has her place in the world and isn't evil - however this is a new marketing slant. Tapping in on the 'Bronies' doco perhaps?

    Happy Friday everyone

I think its a great way to encourage dads to play with their kids.
I dont have a problem with barbie, she was always a great way for me to use my imagination as a child.
Anything to try to get parents to play with their kids and put down their phones is good.

    I think it's great!
My (male) partner watching said "that makes Barbies look fun!".

I think it's great. Yes barbie has her faults but if it encourages dads to play with their kids and also role play, then I think it's wonderful.

I am a woman, and spend much of my day acting out train crashes on tracks, iron man and batman plots, carting around dirt in dump trucks, playing "cops and robbers" with Lego and pretending to be a dragon trainer. As do many mums of boys, I'm sure. A lot of "boy" toy role play and no different than dads playing barbies.

So if this gets more dads to play barbies with their kids, then rock on.

I grew up playing Barbie. I loved it. So do my kids. More parents should spend time with their kids..even play Barbies.

    More 'wrong' what?

I think it's fine. I wish my husband would play with the kids like that.

My DH gets roped into playing Barbies (we have 4 daughters) so I will have to show him this!

I thought the tag line/sentiment behind it all was lovely, doesn't seem to wrong to me.

This is us too. Dh has always played whatever the kids wanted to play. Barbies, tea parties, make up etc...

When DD was little DH would always play barbies with her (he would also let her put make up on him and dress him up in my clothes to have tea parties) and I don't think there was anything wrong with it just like I don't think there is anything wrong with my boys roping me in to play transformers or cars. Yes barbie has her downsides but she is also a toy that most kids play with for a reason, growing up I think I had every barbie and accessory available as did DD and I wouldn't change it for a second in fact now she is older I kind of miss the barbie playing days.
