I haven't logged on in forever, I just kind of faded out of BH because (a) I was out of the pregnancy/baby stage and didn't have much to talk about, and (b) after ~8 years on this site I felt like I'd pretty much seen every possible discussion and question and controversial debate, multiple times

Somewhat exciting news though (ya know, by my standards) - DS has just weaned like 2 weeks ago at 2 years, 7 months! We did the slowest, gentlest wean that ever was and in the end he just didn't ask before bed one night and that was that. Zero tears or sadness, the whole thing was perfect. So I'm feeling very accomplished and even more sure than ever that attachment/gentle parenting is awesome, because he is such a calm, gentle, empathic toddler. Still has a slight speech and cognitive delay, but that's not so bad when his social and emotional development is kicking butt.

Hope everyone in BH land is doing well! I'm sure about a million babies have been born in the last few months

I suspect I'll be back to being a BH regular in a few months when we (finally) start TTC #2.
Yay!!! I was so excited to see your name pop up!

Well done on the weaning front! There's something so beautiful when they get to choose to end the bfing journey by themselves.

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of you around the place again.

So happy we've hit a new milestone.
Dh put dd2 to bed tonight- with me here. No boobs needed, no tears.
Meant I could spend some much needed time putting dd1 to bed and not feeling like I'm doing all the hard work or rushed for time.
    I feel so free

I am surprisingly happy that DS still wants "mummy milk" even after a 4 day hospital stay. I was half hoping that he'd quit. But I guess I like the connection more than I care to admit. For the moment anyway! Let's see what happens when my hormones settle a bit.

I loved my tandem feeds. It felt like the boys were bonding too.

I am rolling my eyes at the fact that the 26 cinnamon scrolls i made at lunchtime are half gone already.

First tamdem feeds yesterday. DS fell off the bed head first and was really upset (understandably), and DD was hungry. And then again at bedtime because DS was crying hysterically for me and DD was hungry again. Maybe later the feeds will be more enjoyable!

Wondering... I bought bacon last Tuesday morning, it's been in the fridge since then (combination of night shift brain and pregnancy brain). Would it be ok to divide up and freeze? It still smells ok..

If it smells fine and isn't slimy, I would. I've used bacon that's 10-14 days old before - smelt ok and we were fine. Just put a note on it so you know to use it quickly once thawed. Bacon lasts a while despite the use by dates. You can tell if it's off by the smell and texture, so I say go for it.

DH threw it out haha. It was a little slimy so I don't feel too bad about it. Plus I bought more today while I was at the shops (that went straight in the freezer) and then DH came home with another half a kg of bacon too lol. Not that I would have minded having 2.5kg of bacon in the freezer but oh well.

Obsessed with watching April the giraffe get ready to give birth. It's a good thing I only discovered her today because it's all I can think about.
