I am quite possibly addicted to the vegetarian 'sausage' rolls I made on the weekend and quite probably going to put on weight if I keep eating them like this

@binnielici and @JustJaq here you go! Binni if you're still off dairy you'll have to wait a while sorry
    1 large grated zucchini
    1 large grated carrot
    1 large grated potato
    1/4 onion very finely diced
    1 large grated turnip
    1 large grated swede
1 tspn ground white pepper (use 1/2 if you don't want too peppery or making for kids)
    1/2 tspn salt
3 slices wholemeal bread processed into crumbs
1 egg beaten (plus an extra egg beaten to glaze at the end)
    2 tspn parsley
1 and 1/2 cups grated cheese
    4 sheets frozen puff pastry

Grate all the veg and squeeze out the liquid (I use a potato ricer for this)
    Mix everything together well
    Cut pastry sheets in half
Brush pastry edges with extra beaten egg
Form mixture into long sausage shape on the pastry about 3cm wide x 1cm high.
Roll up tight and cut each in half and brush with egg. If you want mini sausage rolls brush with egg then cut each half into 4 pieces
Place on baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional).
Bake at 200 for 20 minutes.
Makes 12-14 full size sausage rolls or 48 mini sausage rolls. You can also do pasties but there's pastry wastage (get 9 mini pasties to a sheet of pastry vs 16 mini sausage rolls).
For meat version replace the cheese with 500g of beef or sausage mince. I have made both versions and prefer the veg and cheese!

aw BettyVVVV! Thanks for thinking of me :3

I haven't logged on in forever, I just kind of faded out of BH because (a) I was out of the pregnancy/baby stage and didn't have much to talk about, and (b) after ~8 years on this site I felt like I'd pretty much seen every possible discussion and question and controversial debate, multiple times

Somewhat exciting news though (ya know, by my standards) - DS has just weaned like 2 weeks ago at 2 years, 7 months! We did the slowest, gentlest wean that ever was and in the end he just didn't ask before bed one night and that was that. Zero tears or sadness, the whole thing was perfect. So I'm feeling very accomplished and even more sure than ever that attachment/gentle parenting is awesome, because he is such a calm, gentle, empathic toddler. Still has a slight speech and cognitive delay, but that's not so bad when his social and emotional development is kicking butt.

Hope everyone in BH land is doing well! I'm sure about a million babies have been born in the last few months

I suspect I'll be back to being a BH regular in a few months when we (finally) start TTC #2.
