The NSW Department of Education gives 14 weeks at full pay. So, in this case I'm taking 6 weeks at full pay and 16 weeks at half pay. I'll get the government PPL for 18 weeks, 16 of which is when I'm on half pay (that's the only way we can afford it). Does that make sense? I'll go back to work three days a week at the start of term 3.

You need to also look at the tax implications of taking both at once. They are both taxable income so the amount you get deducted each pay will be more than if you get one at a time. The ATO site as a calculator where you enter your wages and it tells you how much you will pay. Run it with getting both paid at once and separately to compare the tax you will pay.

You can still get both as per entitlement. I've been on leave since last June. I took my AL then my LS at half pay then PPL started mid oct and runs out in a couple of weeks. You just have to figure out all of dates before you go on leave

I'm in SA and for me with vacation pay it did last longer. I didn't know until it happened but during the summer i got paid summer holiday pay and then my leave pay continued again afterwards. It was a nice surprise!

I think that's what is confusing me! I think it will just mean some payments will have to overlap.

Yes mine ended up overlapping but i was just careful with putting the money away. I received full payments but lived on half and saved half anyhow.
