    Default Confused!

Hi all, it's been quite a while since I checked in here but have found myself in a confusing situation!

It took over two years to conceive our DD (our IVF miracle baby) who was born in August 2015. I got my period back when she was 10 months old in June last year and to my surprise my cycles seemed to be fairly regular whereas before they could be anything from 40-over 100 days.

We went to see our fertility specialist in November to discuss using our frozen embryo sometime at the beginning of 2017 and she said she was happy for us to try and just see what happens in the meantime and if we don't fall pregnant we can transfer the embryo in one of my cycles in Feb/Mar as they were fairly normal now.

I had worked out I would be ovulating just after Christmas so we tried then and on the morning of the 9th of Jan (around 12dpo) I decided I was going to test. Went to the toilet and AF was there so didn't even bother to test. I had fairly normal bleeding lasting about 3 days.

Judging by how my previous cycles had been I thought I must be due to ovulate this weekend just gone or early this week. On Saturday night I had some light pink bleeding that went brown and then stopped yesterday. I found that odd as I don't usually have mid cycle bleeding. Last night I was feeling a bit off and just on a whim decided to do FRER test.

Well this is what showed up in seconds...

And then this with FMU today:

I'm so confused! I literally had what I thought was a normal period 2 weeks ago?!
Has anyone seen anything like this before and had a good outcome? We had so much heartache in TTC last time I just can't believe this is actually happening.

I've heard that you most certainly can have a period when pregnant, and that it's not that uncommon. A 3 day period seems short to me, is that normal for you? I would be tentatively hopeful, that test is positive but it's not a super strong positive for someone who would be around 6 weeks pregnant. My advice would be to go to the gp and get some bloods done and a scan too. Fingers crossed, how lovely it would be if it happened that easily for you!
ETA: if you conceived on the 9th Jan then that BFP looks perfect as you'd be about 4 weeks along. Maybe that weird period was some random mid-cycle bleeding???

Thanks @GingerKat ! I just checked FF and it was actually 4 days which is normal for me.

I was thinking it didn't look strong enough for how far along I should be. Not getting my hopes up but just really confused by it all.

Off to the GP this morning to get bloods and hopefully arrange a scan too. Would anything be able to be seen yet?

Hmm. Interesting. My guess would have been an 8-11 Jan conception .

Another alternative would be that you have conceived on the 28 dec ish and it didn't progress and the hcg is still hanging around and the line this morning looks darker because it's the first wee vs yesterday's night wee????

Just had bloods done and will get results this afternoon so I'll see what happens. The GP didn't seem to concerned about the bleeding.
